The Squekquel

Posted by iamjacq under Family Time

We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 with my sisters at GV Bishan Junction 8 today. My sister Joy haven’t been to that mall yet and it was much nearer than Plaza Singapura so we chose to go there. Iyah enjoyed the movie a lot, she enjoyed the popcorn too :) It was an okay movie for me I guess, the animation was great but it was more of a kids movie. I can’t wait for the next movie date with the little girl.

Cloudy with a chance of meat balls

We watched this movie in 3D today at Suntec City. I must say that GV cinemas are much better than EW (which is the theatre in Suntec). I will keep this in mind and would probably start watching at GV theatres from now on, there’s not much leg room in EW…when you have shopping bags to stow under your seat this is important and I had a few today which made it tricky for others to pass our seats since there wasn’t much space. We didn’t plan on watching a movie today since movie tickets are slightly higher on weekends) so I was thinking maybe Tuesday would be better, but when Iyah saw the theatre she said “let’s watch a movie” so we gave in. Anyway the movie was good, we liked it. It was funny and the animation was great. Iyah loved the scene when there was ice cream scoops on top of the houses (it was so colorful). She’s used to watching movies now that I don’t worry that she will cry or something inside the theatre. The 3d glassed bugged her a little because it was big for her but other than that she’s fine. This means more movie dates for us in the near future.

A nice family day

Posted by iamjacq under Family Time, Shopping

We went to Tampines central last Monday, the perfect end to our long weekend :) It was Iyah’s first time to go there, hubby thought it would be nice to go somewhere different for a change. It seems he was tired of going to the same malls all the time (lol). We had a nice time there and we did a little bit of shopping too.

Since we already had lunch we decided to have an afternoon snack when we reached the mall.

J.CO was the first place that caught our eyes, doughnuts and coffee….of course I’m there. They have yogurt too so I ordered one too with fresh fruits for toppings. My husband is not a fan of yogurt so I finished it by myself. Iyah loved the doughnuts of course and so did hubby. We went shopping afterwards. The mall have lots of interesting shops, from clothing to gift shops and toy stores. I got 2 more presents for Iyah while hubby got some items for the home theatre (don’t ask me what because I have no idea).

After heading home of course we had to go from dinner. We went Say Cheeze, it was our first time dining there too. The food was okay, nothing special but it wasn’t bad too. Hubby said his burger was great. I had baked salmon risotto and Iyah had a kiddie meal. The price was reasonable and the staff were efficient.

Overall it was a nice day at the mall. I’m planning to go back there because of the newly opened Disney store. I’m going to pick up a few things for Iyah for her birthday.

Pepper Lunch

Posted by iamjacq under Family Time, My blurbs

How yummy is that? Last Sunday we were suppose to go to Sentosa but it rained heavily that the plan didn’t push through. Anyway late in the afternoon it stopped raining to we went out but only to go to the mall to shop for a few things then have dinner at Pepper Lunch. I love eating there, the food is great and not so expensive too. The little girl was behaved from the time we left the house until after dinner, she sat on her stroller on the way to the mall and then on the high chair at dinner. We had to let her use the Ipod but still she was great. We went shopping afterwards, just some essentials for me and then we bought a box of mooncake. I find it a bit expensive $32 for four pieces but I guess the ingredients they used makes it expensive. We went home at almost 9:30pm. It was a nice evening.
