All About The Memories

It’s been four months since we moved to our own home and it’s only now that I’m thinking about Free Moving Announcements and house warming invitations. We didn’t really need to make a moving announcement at that time but everyone loves a party so we’ll have one.

Housewarming Invitations

I love our home. I love the environment here, our neighbors are nice and everything we need is just around the corner. I love that it is quiet here and our view is fantastic. We’re still in the process of decorating but I’d like to take our time to find pieces that we love for our house. We got the basics covered and I’m pleased with the furniture we bought. My little girl loves it here too.

These are the new pendant lamps that hubby installed himself. We replaced the existing ones with these to match our dining chairs. The existing ones were a tad soo small for our dining table and it wasn’t centered so we decided to change it. Oh and these didn’t cost us a lot too. We got all the parts and the shade from Ikea. We wanted a different shade actually but that was a bit pricey so we settled for this one instead. Maybe in the future we could get the shade we really like but for now this will do. I’m pleased with how it turned out. And old pendant lamps didn’t go to storage, I used it as vases because it was crystal and it was a waste to be put away.

I took my parents and sister to Ikea today, I needed to pick up the curtains for our living room and I wanted to take my mom there anyway so to Ikea we went. Of course we had to dine at the restaurant which was thankfully not crowded before we headed to the showroom. I picked up a couple more things for the house and my mom did her own shopping too. If it wasn’t too bulky to take back home she would have gotten two area rugs for their house but it would just be too heavy. She ended up getting kitchen items instead which was also great, she loved Ikea too. The little girl was busy running around and playing at the play area and my dad played with her. I picked up the curtains after we checked out. Here’s some photos of the curtains….


We got sheer organza fabric in white for our day curtains and a printed fabric with tie backs for our night curtains. We loved how it turned out. It didn’t cost us a lot (we paid about $390 for both the fabric and sewing cost) which is great and it took exactly two weeks to finish just like we were told.

Not just dusting actually, scrubbing, wiping, moping and other ways of cleaning…we’re doing it at home. My parents and youngest sister are arriving from Phils. this weekend and we’re preparing the house for them. We got the LPG tank for the stove so my mom can cook. We were suppose to get from City Gas so we won’t ever have to worry about running out of gas and we will be billed monthly together with our PUB but when the guy came to set it up he said that a part of the burners have to be replaced so it would be compatible with City Gas. So we decided to use LPG instead. We had to buy a regulator because we’ve never used LPG before but that’s fine. I spent several hours looking at free insurance quotes online in between cleaning up because my back hurts but overall I think we’re almost ready.

Furnitures are here and we’ve unpacked more than half the boxes. It feels good to be here finally, this is really our home. I love it here already. We’ve already met our next door neighbor, they seem nice. A couple with their two kids the youngest is a little girl too. The boy I think is about 8 years old says hello whenever I see him. It’s so quiet here too, we sleep soundly at night and Iyah loves that she has more room to run around.

Yup today we’re moving to our own house. All the boxes are ready and we’re waiting for the movers to come this afternoon. The plan is for me and the little girl to go to the house first since she doesn’t have to be in the middle of chaos so it’s better for us to just wait for them there. The day has come and I know it’s going to be an exhausting week once we’ve move in but I’m really excited. I’m eager to decorate our house once the new furnitures come in. And I’ll be really happy to wake up to this every morning….

Yay house painting is done! We love how everything turned out. These are some pictures of the house, we picked out the colors ourselves. It was a great decision to paint the wood panel on the entry way the same color as the kitchen walls. It looks even better now. Everything is working out pretty well
