If you know my husband well then you know that he likes his gadgets. He is into all those techie stuff and I can say I am benefiting from it too. I’ve recently stumbles upon this blog and I bookmarked it on his computer for him. Why you ask? It is a blog about gadgets so I’m sure he’ll love it. He likes reading about the latest in anything technology related and this blog has it. I found this boom box bag really cute. Well it is not really a radio but it looks really cool. The rest of the post there are more on my husband’s alley so I’m leaving all the reading up to him. Anyway he share what he finds with me.

Wow this month flew by so fast. It is now the end of the month (payday yippee!) and I’m not sure I have a lot of accomplishments to show for it. Thank goodness for scrapbooking at least I know I did something. Next it’s my youngest sister’s birthday, now I feel old (lol).
A friend of mine recently got back from a month trip to the US. He visited his family there and took a little vacation while too. Being a guy he went out with his buddies and went to some Las Vegas night clubs. He told me he enjoyed being there. The guy works hard to I guess taking some time off to relax and “be with the boys” was in order. In fact I think this vacation of his was long overdue. I’m just glad he had fun. I know it wasn’t easy for him to be away from his family so spending time with them was definitely good for him. And I would say he really enjoyed his stay in Las Vegas. He love the night life so it was definitely his idea of fun. We went to check out the casinos for a bit but he spent most of his time clubbing with his friends.
Question: Can fruit juice give my baby diarrhea?
I’ve been wondering about this since Iyah is now a solid eater (she still doesn’t eat much though) and I thinking of giving her a bit of variety when it comes to what she eats and drinks. Luckily for me the internet always come in handy when it comes to finding the answer. So here’s what I found out…
Answer: Yes, too much fruit juice can cause diarrhea. That’s because many juices contain sorbitol, a nondigestible form of sugar. Excess sorbitol levels cause the body to try to dilute the sugar by pulling water from the bloodstream into the intestine, which causes loose stools. That’s how prune juice, which is high in sorbitol, works. Apple, pear, peach, and cherry juice are also fairly high in sorbitol.
Adults can’t digest sorbitol either, but baby’s bodies are smaller, so the effect can be more pronounced, especially if you give your baby too much juice. Keep in mind that until your baby starts eating solids (at age 4 to 6 months), you shouldn’t give him juice at all — breast milk or formula is all he needs.
Once started on solids, he can have fruit juice in a cup, but no more than about 4 ounces a day. More than that can ruin his appetite for other nutrient-rich foods and cause tooth decay. You can dilute his juice, if you want to make it last a bit longer, but between meals (when most “juice abuse” occurs), offer your baby water rather than juice.

I’ve been printing a lot lately since I’m keeping up with the layouts I make. I’ve been scrapping for a while now with very little printed copies to show for it. So now whenever I finish a layout I print it right away then put it in their proper album. I’m more organize that what and I get to use the albums I bought. Naturally with all the printing I do I need more printer ink than before. I like doing the printing here at home than taking my layouts to printing shops, too much hassle. Anyway I remember back then when we were using HP 110 Ink Cartridge for our previous printer hubby found an online store that sells a wide range of ink cartridges. We never had a hard time looking for ink because we rely on that online store. It was quite convenient for us to do the shopping online too.
Iyah’s at an age when I think she’s curious about the things around her. She opens drawers, reach out for plugs, touches the electric fan, plays with the remote, crawl near the window…very active I tell you. She’s fast too…she just want to touch anything that catches her attention…sometimes it’s the folded clothes or the electric fan buttons. Keeping a watchful eye on her can be tiring at times, she wants to explore her surroundings and I follow her around because I’m scared she might hurt herself. Thankfully no accidents yet and I’m keeping my fingers crossed there won’t be any. She’s still a happy and contented baby. We watch TV together although I think sometimes she’s more interested in the remote. She doesn’t look that chubby but I’m telling you she’s heavy, I love to hug her. I love how she hold on to me when I’m carrying her and how she giggles when she sees her daddy arrive home from work. There’s always plenty of smiles and giggles for daddy. There’s a lot of activities that we do all day but ultimately I just want her to feel secured and loved.
A short vacation would be a good way to relax and unwind tired mind and body. Let’s face it anyone would love to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life once in a while. To me a week spent at Martha’s Vineyard vacation rentals would be just heavenly. Stay at home moms need a break too, believe me we don’t sit around all day doing nothing. Another thing I love about vacation, the photo taking opportunities! I’m a scrapbooker so the more photos I have the happier I am. I love to document our lives and vacations are definitely a scrap worthy topic. You wanna know something more exciting? WeNeedaVacation.com is having their Summer Photo Contest! right now. I’m sneaking in. It’s 10am and both hubby and baby are still asleep. Well Iyah woke up at around 8am but I just fed her and she went back to sleep…phew. It’s nice to have a quiet morning all to myself before, tomorrow is Monday so hubby will be at work and it’s just me and Iyah again. I like to have this chance to catch up on things for a bit before I hear “babababa” and “bububu” then it’s off the computer for me.
Eversince my friend moved to the US five years ago he became a hockey fan. He was constantly mentioning the game in our conversations and was even telling me about the latest hockey draft. He even frequently visit the boards at Hockey’s Future which is the #1 online prospect resource for hockey. You can read about the latest happenings in the world of hockey drafts at the site. You can easily subscribe to the sites RSS feed and if you’re in love with hockey I’m sure you’re going to love that feature. As I’ve mentioned earlier there is also a forum on the site too, you can find topics about anything and everything hockey there.
to you! The weather is still the same so no zoo for us today. Still it would be nice to just sit back and relax today. We need to go to the grocery though. You know sometimes it is hard to plan for meals when you cook everyday, I find myself running out of recipes to cook. I’m no master chef that’s for sure but I do make decent simple “pinoy” dishes. My mom wasn’t a great cook either so I never learned anything from her. We never had one of those mom and daughter cooking lessons….lol. Whatever I know in the kitchen I learned on my own, or on TV. I cook for the family only, I don’t think I can handle cooking for a party. Well that’s why there’s caterers right?!
I also look forward to a day of hours and hours of scrapping to day since hubby is home someone could watch Iyah. I’m so behind a lot of things I really need to catch up.
