The Things You Do

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Watching Iyah is just as fun as watching TV…

The way she is curious about everything around her is fascinating to watch, I have to watch her closely though because some of the things she likes to do could potentially hurt her. I have to keep her close to me at all times. She mastered the art of walking when she turned one and although she slips and falls from time to time she can get all over the house now. Oh yes when the doors in our room are not closed she will go out and go to the other room or the living room. She’s not scared of the dark yet. She also empty any open drawers she could reach. She recently learned how to open hubby’s DVD-rom so she’s having a ball just pressing the button and watch it close and open. She loves that her feet takes her wherever she wants to go, that is why at the end of the day she is completely wiped from all the walking and playing she does. It is true that babies are like sponge, they take in everything. Iyah is really good in imitating us now, in her own way of course. Still at her young age I could make out certain words she’s trying to pronounce. Like when I say ouch…she will reply with accchh (very funny when she does this). This morning while I was chatting with my friend Aggie, I told her I had to go because my little one said, “dedede eeyah” and I was laughing at the thought of her conveying something to me. It was also amazing at the same time. Of course there’s also her signature “go go go” and the cute beautiful eyes (this she rarely does but when she do it is adorable. When you ask her how old she is she will try to show you one finger but sometimes it ends up being a letter L instead (still she gets the concept of what you’re trying to ask her). She also knows how to do the align (as in she will point her finger to your finger) and high five. She also knows what to do when we’re singing the song, If you’re happy and you know it…she will clap her hands. The list goes on and on…yes you are indeed growing up.

Little Daredevil

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Today Iyah tried climbing up our TV console while we were in the living room, that scared the living daylights out of me but for my little dare devil it was really fun. My gosh I can’t leave her even just for a second because goodness knows what she will try to do next. While this whole thing is scaring me I think it is also great to see just how much she is learning each day.

My thoughs on loans

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

When I think of a Loan I think of having an option when you need to buy a big ticket item that you can’t pay in full right away, like let’s say a house or a new car. Homeowner loans are for those you have been dreaming of owning their dream house for the longest time. There’s also unsecured loans for other folks who needs a huge amount of money for something important. I wouldn’t recommend getting a loan for a shopping spree though, a loan is still a loan and at the end of the day (or should I say at the end of the month) who have to be prepared to pay for it. Having the option to get a loan doesn’t mean you can just get one on a whim then spend it all for shopping. One must remember that a loan is money you don’t have, something you borrow so it should be for things that are really important that for the latest and most expensive purse you saw at the boutique yesterday. It is tempting to splurge on pretty things yes, who doesn’t love a great purse right? But one should remember to be careful with loans or risk being in huge debt with nothing to show for it except for a closet full of stuff.

Pump Issues

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Last Friday I had major breast pump issues. My Avent Isis Uno pump broke down on me and at that point I was forced to go manual again (thank goodness I have my manual pump). It was very early in the morning and I was my routine eping schedule, I was putting the plug of the power supply on the pump when I heard I tiny sound coming from the inside, when I tried to find where is was coming from I noticed that the connector for the power supply was missing, turns out it was causing the sound (because it wasn’t connected anymore and it was at the bottom of the pump) and I can hear it whenever I move the pump like a rattle. I knew it was hopeless. I couldn’t do anything about it but I still need to go on with my eping schedule so I just grabbed (and sterilized) my manual pump. Oh it was SO HARD, I spent an hour an a half eping and my hands were sore. The let down took so long and not enough breastmilk was coming out. I was so frustrated but I had to do it. I’ve been so used to my electric pump that I’ve forgotten how all about going manual to think I spent the first four months of being an eping mom using a manual pump. I spent three eping schedule using my manual pump and it took me forever to finish.

Thankfully my every realible and oh so loving husband fixed my pump, yes I didn’t have to bring it to the service centre (which would probably take about five days before I could get it back) because he fixed it. So I think all engineers love tinkering with things right? Well I’m glad he’s great in fixing things. He got home with a little gadget (I’m not sure but I think it was a soldering iron or something) and opened the pump to find the connector placed it back where it should be. I’m really really happy it is fixed now.

Fun at the playground

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Yesterday we took Iyah to the rooftop garden just beside our place. It was her first time playing at the playground. I’ve taken her there before but she never got to play until yesterday. She had so much fun and we were tired from chasing her (lol). Here are some pics of the little princess in action…

See how dirty her pants was, I had to make sure to wash it the moment we got home.

The last pic is sooo cute, actually I’m just thankful she looked at me here. She was so busy playing that I couldn’t get her attention long enough to take a photo. I could have gotten more shots but my battery died, darn I didn’t check before we left the house. We’ll definitely be back for more photos, hopefully next time I’m on it and not behind the camera. I’m definitely enjoying having a walking baby.

The List

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Yesterday I received two phone calls from two different credit card companies. Our number must be on their Telemarketing Lists because they were offering me their latest credit card and telling me about its features. Anyway I’ve read about Martin Worldwide which is one of the leaders in the direct marketing industry. They are one of the largest and most successful mailing list providers in the US today. One of their most successful product is ResponseCom which is a proprietary blend of U.S. Response and U.S Consumer databases, resulting in a multi-dimensional database that offers extreme versatility and over 100 demographic and psychographic selects. Now that must be tons of databases to cover. They have listings of over over 290 million consumers and 14 million U.S. businesses to date.

Enchanted

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

So I ended up going with my sister anyway. I booked our tickets online so we had good seats, we also got popcorn and drinks. It was the last show for the night so I didn’t expect there would be a lot of people.

The movie was great! I love it! It was simply delightful, a fun light-hearted family movie! Okay so Patrick Dempsey was there so even if the movie was so-so I would still say it was great…but it was really great! Kids can watch this movie and adults will have some laughs too. It was funny but also sweet and romantic at the same time. Did I mention Patrick Dempsey was there? I think the cartoon turned reality bit was also a nice twist but Patrick Dempsey was there so that’s the best part. So yes if you ask me I will tell you that you should watch the movie, it will give you a good laugh…if you are a hopeless romantic and loves the mushy love stuff then you should watch this too.

This is something my husband will watch only because he’s with me but given a choice I think he will pass. So it was nice to have a girl to girl bonding night out with my sister. I can’t wait until this comes out on dvd, I’ll surely get a copy.

Going Out

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

with hubby tonight. Yes we have a date! I convinced him to watch Disney’s Enchanted movie, well it was either he watch it with me or he will take care of Iyah while me and my sister watch…lol. Anyway I hope the movie is good, I got to admit I only insisted on watching it on the big screen because Patrick Dempsey is one of the actors (yeah I still have the McDreamy thing going on). Okay I gotta go now…will blog about the movie later.

For The Summer

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

This coming summer hubby’s aunt will have a pool installed in their home. They’re really excited about it and couldn’t wait until they could get started. It’s not fancy nor gigantic either, just an average sized pool where they could relax on those warm summer days. They’re hoping to get a good contractor for this project of theirs like the phoenix pool builders they’ve heard so much about. A friend of theirs told them about Cameo Pools which was established in 1977 and is the oldest pool company in Mesa Arizona. They provide excellent customer service with high quality pool construction. They custom design your pool to fit your lifestyle, they offer custom Water Features and custom Pool Packages. I can’t wait to see their new pool when its done, wow it would be a nice retreat at their backyard.

A little scrap shopping

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I went out yesterday trying to find more Christmas decorations but there wasn’t anything we haven’t seen yet at the mall. So off to my local scrapbook store I went, and I did some shopping too. I got me the latest Scenic Route papers and die cuts, some Elsie papers, chipboard shapes, felt buttons and flowers, some more die cuts, 8×8 page protectors for my American Crafts albums and the latest issue of Scrapbooks Etc. I didn’t get the December issue of Creating Keepsakes as per Aggie’s advice and they don’t have Simple Scrapbooks anymore. See it’s not the bad, I spent less than $100 for all those items.
