I’ve been experimenting on Iyah’s food lately trying to find out which ones she’ll like. So far I added egg yolk and fresh banana on her menu. She’s really into trying out different types of food lately and I’m very pleased. I try to introduce one new iteam very other day and see how it goes. I love that we have more choices now and hoping that soon we can give up baby food in jars (goodbye Organic Heinz) but I will do it slowly. She loves biting into her baby biscuits too, that’s what she have for her mid morning and mid afternoon snack. She drinks fruit juices as well, so far she likes apple, pear and apple and cranberry. Things are really looking up on the eating department, yay!

I hate to admit it but I know much about internet security and have very little interest in learning as well. Now if you ask me about NOD32 I would think you’re crazy because you will get nothing from me. My husband however is another story, yeah he is a bit of a computer geek which by the way is a compliment. To say that he knows a lot about computers is an understatement. Anyway he found Software Security Solutions which is said to be a single resource for best-in-class Computer Security Software. Of course I believe him if he say so, that’s how little I know about the subject. Now I know that the world wide web is not a very safe place as there are people lurking out there waiting for someone to take advantage of. I know my husband works very hard to secure all our computers and our server so I know we’re in good hands.
under the sea? Sponge Bob Square Pants! Grabbed this from Litzie…got the same results too.

Put your character in the subject line and forward to your friends and back to the person that sent this to you.
Very interesting to see ‘who’ your friends are!
(10-16 points) You are Garfield :
You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to
have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know what
you are doing and you are always in control of your life. Others may
not see things as you do, but that doesn’t mean that you always have to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.
(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:
You are fun, you are very cool and popular. You always know what’s i n
and you are never are out of style You are good at knowing how to
satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days
more than once but you always come home with the family values that you learned Being married and having children are important to you, but
only after you have had your share of fun times
(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to
give advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic and
you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice: try not to
be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in
your life.
(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:
You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend
that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never cause
harm to anyone and they would never not understand your feelings. Life
is a journey, it’s funny and calm for the most part. Stay away from
traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.
(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very serious
about all relationships. You are a family person. You call your Mom
every Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few
Birthdays. Don’t let your passion confuse you with reality.
(44-50 points) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker… Every situation is fronted
with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong
family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a bad
situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once in a
while to spice things up a bit with spontaneity!
Snag this and have fun!
This I grabbed from Litzie’s blog…
1. They say elephants never forget. Would you compare your memory to that of an elephant or gnat?
Gnat definitely. I used to have a good memory but I tend to forget certain things every now and then.
2. What kinds of things do you find it easy to remember?
It’s easy to remember our birthdays, by our I mean my family of three and my family(my parents and two siblings). Hubby’s family has lots of kiddos and adults I can’t keep track of them all. I remember friends’ birthdays too.
3. What kinds of things do you find it difficult to remember?
I forgot what it is (lol).
4. How does your short-term memory compare to your long-term memory?
Well my sister often teases me because I can remember names of some of my classmates back in first grade, even the ones who weren’t my friends…just classmates.
5. How do you commit things to memory? Certain songs and movies remind me of certain years of my life.
As a mommy I like reading reviews of the products I am interested in purchasing especially if it is for my daughter. I like reading what other parents have to say about the product I want. It is helpful to know certain information before going to the baby shop and making the purchase. Which is why I was happy that there is a new website that caters to parents/consumers like me. The Knot Inc. recently launched its new website Lilaguide.com, the web’s first hub for real parent reviews of local baby stores, gear, and services. It has a comprehensive compilation of real parent reviews with more than 120,000 reviews that will immensely help parents. With just a few clicks of the mouse you will have access to real parents reviews and with a user friendly website I think you will find it very useful. I am currently reading reviews on the Christmas gifts I bought for my little one and I am pleased that other parents found the toys entertaining for their kids. Now I’ll be checking this site often before I go shopping.
I grabbed this tag from Litzie’s blog…
1. What food did you crave when you were pregnant? I didn’t have so much cravings when I was pregnant. I didn remember wanting to eat the Swedish Meatballs at Ikea.
2. Did you gain a lot of weight when you were pregnant? I gained weight but I don’t think it was over the top…just the typical “there’s a baby growing inside of me” kind of weight gain. It was a bit depressing at times though seeing myself steadily gaining weight.
3. Did you drink milk when you were pregnant? Yes, my husband made it a point to give me my glass of milk every night. He also made sure I take all my prenatal vitamins…such a wonderful man he is.
4. How long did you stay in the labor room before your delivery? Here the labor room and the delivery room is the same, you have the suite for yourself (and your husband) from the time you are in labor up until you give birth. I was in labor for 16 hours.
5. Did you had epidural during labor? Yes. I was admitted at 5pm and had the epidural around 11pm. I didn’t feel the labor pain for the most part except for the time when the epidural wore off (that was around 3am) and I felt my contractions, they increased the dosage of the epidural and no pain for me again. I remember throwing up when I first got my IV though and also when I was given the epidural.
6. How did you give birth? Via CS. After 16 long hours of labor (I can’t stress enough how long it felt like) I had a normal delivery. At first we were worried that forceps might be needed but in the end I was able to push her out. I wasn’t feeling anything at all so my OB and the nurses were instructing me when to push. I was awake the whole time, chatting with my OB while she was stitching me up (lol).
7. What was your first reaction when you heard your baby’s cry and saw him/her for the first time? Happy. Finally she’s here…I’m holding her in my arms! All I was thinking was how beautiful and perfect she is and that I am now officially a mother.
8. Prior to that moment when you first held your baby, did you know how to carry a newborn? Yeah I have friends who became moms when we were in college. I also have cousins too, I love little babies even when I was still a teenager…I like watching them but no big duties though.
9. Did you take a bath after your delivery? Yikes, no! When my waterbag broke I was about to take a bath so before we went to the hospital I had a nice warm bath because I know it would take weeks before I could have one again. I didn’t like the idea of not bathing everyday but what the heck I followed the custom/tradition anyway. It was suppose to be a month but I only lasted for two weeks.
10. How was your first night with your baby like? It was okay, she roomed in with me at the hospital. It was also on the first night that she had the meconium discharge, oh my there was a lot! I had to call the nurse to help me change her, she was so tiny I wasn’t confident with my diaper changing skills yet.
11. Did you breastfeed your baby? I tried breastfeeding directly but she wasn’t able to latch on properly and by day three I had bleeding nipples. I had to resort to pumping my breastmilk, it was a very painful two days but I was determined so I survived that. When my nipples were completely healed and I was ready to try breastfeeding again she won’t take my breast anymore. I think I introduced bottle feeding too early (well I had no choice) so I became an Eping mommy. I was able to purely give Iyah breastmilk up until she’s 13 months old. I’m ready for mixed feeding though, it is just so tiring for me to wake up in the wee hours of the morning just to expressed breastmilk. She’s eating more solid food now as well so I think it is the right time.
12. If you were to pick just one moment from the time you gave birth until the moment you were discharged from the hospital, which do you think is the most special moment for you? I think that would be the time when the nurse brought Iyah to our room, it was me, hubby and her…we’re a FAMILY! That was pretty special to me.
Grab this tag if you feel like answering.
So far Iyah doesn’t have any allergies to any food she has eaten (or tried eating). I’m still watching her closely when it comes to her meal times. I have food allergies so I want to make sure she doesn’t have any or if she does we could detect it early and do what we have to do to deal with it.
Low-fat milk: Your toddler still needs the fat and calories of whole milk for growth and development. Once he turns 2 (and if he doesn’t have any growth problems), you can start giving him lower-fat milk if you like.
Large chunks: Pea-size pieces of food are safest — they won’t get stuck in your child’s throat. Vegetables like carrots, celery, and green beans should be diced, shredded, or cooked and cut up. Fruits like grapes, cherry tomatoes, and melon balls should be cut into quarters before serving, and meats and cheeses should be cut into very small pieces or shredded.
Small, hard foods: Nuts, popcorn, cough drops, hard candies, raisins, and other small dried fruit and seeds are potential choking hazards. Also avoid chewing gum and soft foods like marshmallows and jelly candies that might get lodged in your child’s throat.
Peanut butter: Be careful not to give your toddler large dollops of peanut butter, which can be difficult to swallow. Instead, spread peanut butter thinly on bread or crackers. You might want to try thinning it with some applesauce before spreading it.
More choking prevention:
• Avoid letting your child eat in the car since it’s hard to supervise while driving.
• If you’re using a rub-on teething medication, keep an even closer eye on your toddler as it can numb his throat and interfere with swallowing.
Highly allergenic foods: Most kids can handle common allergens by their first birthday. But if you’re concerned about allergies, experts suggest delaying the introduction of egg whites until age 2, and holding off on shellfish, tree nuts, and peanuts (including peanut butter) until your child is at least 3. It is amazing how much technology has helped people in so many ways. It changed the way we live, we communicate even the way we shop. It made our lives more convenient and reach out to our family and loves no matter where they are in the world. Today I found out that through the internet you could create a legacy of your life too. This may seem out of the ordinary but I think it is a great way to celebrate who you are and what you want others to know about you. It is free to Join. MyFootprints.com and you can fill in as little or as many sections there about yourself. You could create your own account and ask family and friends to to view your footprint.
I worry that Iyah might be a picky eater like I was but things are looking up lately. She’s becoming more and more interested in what we eat. She wants to drink from our glass, likes to grab our spoon or fork at meal times (so I give her a spoon of her own) and is now willing to taste what we eat. She loves my cheese waffles too! She would bite into it and sometimes she’s able to nibble tiny bits, if I feel that what she have in her mouth is too big (might cause her to choke) I simply take it out but otherwise she eats the waffle too. Just tonight at dinner I let her taste the honeydew I was eating and she liked it as well. I love that she’s learning to eat grown up food now, I knew it was right to just wait for her to be ready. And now I think she is…yay Iyah!
Before you sign up for a credit card I think you should take for consideration which one will suit you best. There’s the Cash Reward Credit Cards for instance, this one I really like and this will be perfect to those who shop a lot.You get cash when you have accumulated enough points, now that’s getting something from spending. Before deciding which credit card to get I think it is wise to check out CreditCardSearchEngine.com first. It is one of the internet’s longest running sites for online credit card comparison. It will allow you to search, compare, and apply for all types of credit card offers, everything from low interest and reward card to cards for people with bad to average credit. You can compare different credit card issuers as well as the credit card features through the website. I don’t think one should sign up to every credit card that comes in the mail so I think it is important to find the right one for you.
