All About The Memories

Christmas is just around the corner and I’m excited about picking up Iyah’s gifts this year. Our first Christmas as a family last year wasn’t really that fun because Iyah was just two months old then and well two month old babies don’t do much. This year will be different since I know she will enjoy tearing up wrapping paper on Christmas day…I’m now making a list of possible gifts for our princess. All the toy recalls lately sucks the fun out of shopping but since she have so much clothes already I think toys should be more fun. There’s a couple of Leapfrog toys that I love, I would probably buy my top three toys in the end (though I wish I could buy more…lol). These toys are a lot cheaper in the US, unfortunately I have to buy them here…oh well anything for Iyah. That’s all I have on Iyah’s gifts so far…I will still scout for possible gifts for her though.

Today Iyah and I went to a baby shower…yes it was just me and her. This doesn’t happen very often, going out just the two of us. Well I did it a couple of times but I’m not really use to it. I could probably do it really but I just don’t because it is so much easier when I have hubby or my sister with me. She’s really cute this afternoon, everyone commented how cute her slip ons and jeans were (thanks to Gymboree…lol). She looks all grown up when she’s wearing jeans and for a baby she does have lots of them. I do love her wearing her dresses though, of course I’m a girly girl at heart and does have a lots of dresses too. She was going everywhere at the shower, she even played with the toys there, I’m just glad she didn’t have any meltdowns or anything like that. She’s just her old smiling self. She even fell asleep amidst all the chaos of the ladies playing games…she’s a trooper. I got home exhausted (and badly needing to pump) though so I’m glad hubby and sister were waiting for us.

When my sister was in college they had an out of the country field a few months before their graduation. I guess they were able to avail of the cheap student airfare which was great and a lot of them were really excited about the trip. She was able to see me just as a was about to give birth and it was nice. Anyway I knew that you can find affordable airfare on the internet and you could get better deals on student’s airfares too. I’ve seen them once trying to find a good deal on hubby’s airfare. At Airvalues you could find those discounts, they even have a special section for student travellers so you won’t have any difficulties finding it on the site. You can find useful tips and information as well which I think is another good thing. Not only you can book your flights but also car rental, hotel reservations as well as cruises from the site. It is very user friendly too so no need to search and search, you can find categories on the sidebar that will guide your navigation of the site.

She’s such a cute kiddo. We’ve been really cautious with her now that she can walk and she’s a joy to watch. I can’t help but be amaazed at just how much she’s grown and the things she can do now. She knows how to make lambing to all of us here. She would put her head on my lap whenever we’re reading a book and I think it’s so sweet. Oh and her smile, just warms my heart. I should put up more videos here I guess so you could see her in action.

I can’t believe that Christmas is next month! Oh my did the time flew by just like that? I feel like I don’t have much to show for it, well maybe I do…all the photos I took and all the layouts I made but really is it November already? I have started Christmas shopping last month and I did it mostly online. It is more convenient for me that way and I like to get great discounts too which you can find on the internet. I have crossed out a bunch of people or kids rather on my shopping list and I plan to do more shopping before this month ends. I don’t think last minute shopping is such a great idea if you have a baby, it would be so hard so it is better to shop way ahead of time. Anyway I get interested whenever I see ads of sales and promotions, pretty much like those Black Friday ads in the US. A friend of mine always do her shopping after thanksgiving because according to her she finds amazing deals on Black Friday. Just last year she was able to get great stuff with all the Old Navy specials she found and it was great. Like me she likes her savings too. Christmas is special to us so I want to make sure I give my loved ones something special too. I’m planning my gifts for my little girl already and she’s going to be receiving several gifts from mommy and daddy.

I woke to a very dark sky this morning and now it is raining. Sigh I hope the rains stops this afternoon because I plan to go to the mall today. I want to pick up my scrapbooking stuff that I reserved at out local scrapbook store last Sunday. I forgot my membership card so I wasn’t eligible for the discount and treat card so I reserved my items instead. I will do an altered project for Iyah with those items and I’m excited about it. I will post details about it on my scrap blog and not here. Fortunately we don’t experience storms here so it could be raining this morning (raining as in like there’s a storm) and the sun is up later this afternoon, that’s how our weather here is.

I heard about capella university from a friend who is currently taking up an online course to upgrade herself. This fully online university is an accredited university with more than 20,000 students currently enrolled in over 56 countries. They offer a lot of degree programs such in business, information technology, public health, public safety, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety. This online university is a subsidiary of Capella Education Company which has a head office in Minneapolis. So far she have nothing but praised when she’s talking about her learning experience in an online school. Truly times have changed, if you want to study you can do it online.

Yes she can climb down and climb up the sofa and our bed! She’s playing it safe though, if her tiny toes can’t touch the floor she doesn’t persist on climbing down. We all have to watch her closely, no one wants a baby with bumps and bruises so we pay more attention to her now that she’s learning these rather dangerous stuff. Oh she gets under the bed too, oh my she follow her ball as in rolls under the bed and she would try with all her might to reach it. Sometimes she gets frustrated when she can’t do anything to reach her ball. I almost drop of my chair when I saw her tiny body trying to get under the bed, she almost succeeded if I wasn’t watching her. She’s fast too, one moment she’s beside the next she’s on the other side of the room trying to grab something or climb onto something. My goodness the things this little girl do!

Finding a nice and reasonably price room on one of the many Orlando Hotels or anywhere for that matter is easy when you know how to use the internet to make online reservations. When going for a vacation I do consider picking a hotel an important task and I don’t take it lightly. In Orlando for instance, one might choose a hotel that is near Disneyland to save time and money going to and from the hotel to Disneyland several times a day. I would like to stay in a place that is pleasing to the eyes and makes me comfortable. Afterall a vacation is a time to relax, unwind and have fun. You don’t do it as often as you’d like to so why not make it a nice vacation. Now since Orlando is a top family destination I imagine it would be better to book way ahead of time to be sure I will get the rooms I wanted, that’s how I would do it. It is better to be early than late. Nice hotels facilities such a a huge swimming pool, gym and child care services is also another factor to consider.

Awww I just have to share this one cute moment with Iyah. So we were reading one of the books I bought her, I was reading allowed as I point to each object. Me: Iyah this is a duck, this is a bear…then suddenly she pointed to the bear herself and said “berrr” oh it was sooo cute! I just love little moments like this when I witness just how much she is learning and how fast she is growing up. Oh I just love her to bits. I have more little kwentos to follow. I wanted to blog about these little things so I won’t forget them, I would probably scrap a few layouts about these too.
