Good Sunday Morning

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I need to buy coffee!

I ran out of coffee last week so I’ve been coffee-less since then. It just proves and I *can* live without it, but I don’t want to so I’m gonna get me some at the grocery store later. It is time to do some serious grocery shopping or I won’t have anything to feed the little girl this week. I’m trying some new recipes too, see how she likes it. It will have more vegetables for her to eat but hopefully she won’t notice it. I will try to find me more whole wheat products too like bread and pasta. No I’m not becoming a health nut here, just trying to make healthier choices for the family. I figure it will help me lose a few pounds along the way, I will never (and I mean never) try alternative ways to lose weight like taking pills or *health* drink that will make me lose weight so I hope this works somehow. I just can’t think of myself taking something just to lose weight, the thought of the complications scares me and besides I’m not desperate. After reading about North Carolina health insurance I am more convinced that I shouldn’t do pills or health drinks.

It will be a relaxing Sunday in this house. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Washing Hands

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

My little girl loves washing her hands by herself. She knows how to turn on the faucet and put her hands under running water. I don’t let her use soap yet but she likes the feeling of water in her palms. We don’t have those fancy Danze faucets but well she still thinks it’s the coolest thing. So after playtime and meals she knows that’s well go to the kitchen sink next to wash up. It is really fun to watch your child learn new things, little things to us but great big things to them. That is why I’m so proud of my girl.

Giving Up

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I’ve been doing a bit of purging at home lately. I want to give away our old clothes to Salvation Army, mine and hubby’s clothes especially. They’re not really old clothes, some even have price tags on but I’ve forgotten about it and got buried at the bottom of the closet. I even found a pair of sexy shoes I don’t even remember buying, weird I know. Anyway I have to sort out which ones I could give away and wash and iron those pieces nicely. I want it to be presentable so it would be useful to someone else. We just have too much clothes the closets are quite full, someone else could benefit from it.

Aggie Wants to Know #1

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Topic No. 1: Life After the Wedding – the Married Life.

What are the things you want them to know about life after the wedding?

Next month it will be nine years since hubby and I first met. You see we’ve been exchanging emails, text messages and talking on the phone months before we actually met. There was on formal courtship, we just agreed that we will go steady the day we finally met face to face. I would say the courtship happened after that. It was the only time I did something like that, and almost nine years later I wouldn’t change a thing.

What really is life after the wedding? The marriage part. The married life.
For me it was going back to reality. Preparing the wedding was fun, exciting and stressful all at the same time. It took me a year to prepare for the wedding with the help of a full time wedding planner. After all the wedding stuff were put away and my gown safely kept in storage, the reality of being married sets in.

After our honeymoon we found out I was pregnant. It took me by surprise, I know I wanted to have a baby but I didn’t know it would come so QUICKLY. We didn’t even wait, it was like “okay let’s have a baby” then bam! I’m pregnant! Who knew we could make a baby that fast?! Certainly not us! We were suppose to go to New Zealand and Korea that year as part of our three country honeymoon, that didn’t happen because after the first country we went to I was already PREGNANT. Although I was surprised I was really HAPPY. It was life changing but a welcomed change. So a month after I got married I got pregnant, nine months after than I became a mommy. You see everything changed so quickly for me. I was working then I quit to take care of the baby, another huge decision, one that I’ll always be grateful I did. It was a blessing that I have such a great husband (that’s why I married him in the first place, lol), he was there for me every step of the way. So I guess that was the start of our married life.

So….
If Iyah is to marry, I’d give her my advice (and hopefully words of wisdom)…
1. You have to prepare yourself for the married life, not just the wedding.
2. You should enter marriage, knowing who you are and loving yourself for who you are. You shouldn’t let the other person dictate who you will be and what you will become.

3. Married life is not a bed of roses. There will be hard times. There will be fights, tears and heartaches. The two of you should work together to make the marriage work. Make decisions together. Talk to each other. Understand each other. A call to los angeles flower every once in a while for that beautiful bouquet of tulips is also welcomed.

4. Little acts of love are always appreciated. Don’t forget to say I LOVE YOU to your husband everyday.

Here I am

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I’m now blogging using my laptop, yay! Hubby finally set it up last night just the way I wanted. He went to get it from the service centre yesterday morning, the lcd, fan and speakers were replaced. Apparently I don’t clean the fan properly (well I don’t really clean it lol) and it caused all sorts of problems in the long run. The good news is we didn’t pay a single cent. It feels weird how much I’m used to using hubby’s PC now, it’s only a week but I feel weird using my mouse and typing on a laptop keyboard. Well his computer is super fast too so it will take a little getting use to but still I’m happy my laptop is fine now. I can do my usual surfing and scrapping here again, maybe I should check out authorize.net and the other sites I usually visit. Sunday morning and it looks like it’s going to rain, I’ve been seeing lightning and hearing thunders when I woke up. Looks like we’re going to be staying at home for the most part of the day.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

Little Fat Lip

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

No we didn’t go to vancouver washington but rather we almost went to the hospital. Last night the three of us went for a walk. You know how the little girl gets excited when she can run around a huge space well last night she got too excited and fell down the ground. It was not around the playground area so she got hurt. She scratched her upper lip a little and I think she also bit a little portion of the inside wall of her mouth. There was blood coming out of her mouth (okay sorry to be a bit detailed here but I really need to journal this), just a little but I knew it hurts. Poor thing, this is the first time she hurt herself like this. Of course it was an accident and a child will have bruises and wounds no matter how careful we parents are but still I feel awful for her. Hubby blames me a little just because I was watching her, well I know I would blame him too if he was watching her and this happens. A little milestone here, she climbed four steps of stair by herself. We don’t have stairs at home so she doesn’t get to practice but last night she did it. No camera though so no pictures…maybe next time.

We will definitely go back and check out that area again, the park is nice and the playground is neat too. Reminds me of a condo hotel. We’ve never been to that area before last night so we’ll come back again soon, well once the little girl doesn’t have her little fat lip anymore.

Safe data

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Now with my laptop all fixed and ready to be collected I’m thinking of installing some sort of security like a password vault just so I can be certain that all my data is protected. There’s really not much to protect but it doesn’t hurt to be cautious. Anyway I’ve learned that Symark Software recently announced that announced that its PowerBroker and PowerPassword-User Management Edition (UME) access control solutions will fully support the new HP Integrity servers running the HP-UX 11i v3 operating system. The company is the leading provider of UNIX and Linux security administration solutions. It was founded in 1985. Their access control solutions combines best-of-breed functionality with ease-of-use to limit access to information and systems based on pre-defined policies and privileges. Security is their top priority and they will strive to protect customers’ IT environments. I know this is focused mainly for big companies with valuable data but it makes me think of how can I protect my own.

A baby shop

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

When I found out I was expecting a baby I quickly did my research. As a first time mom I definitely do not know a lot about motherhood and parenting so online I go for information. I looked for a baby shop that I like that has all the basic essentials I’d need when the little one comes. It was helpful to know where to get the things we needed at that time. Of course I love the shopping part of being pregnant and expecting a baby. I knew I hit the jackpot when I found an massive search Engine of 120,000+ Reviews of Local Stores, Baby Products, Classes, Doctors & Kid Friendly Dining Spots online. Well it didn’t really cater to where we are but still I was able to get a lot of information from Lilaguide.com and I was really happy to have found such a great online resource. They launched with 32,000 listings and over 120,000 reviews from real parents who want to share their advice on baby products and as a first time parent it was really helpful. I could have gotten tons of useless items if I didn’t read reviews first. Now that I’m a mother I still love sites that offers reviews of baby products.

What Your Fridge Says About You?

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I got this from Aggie’s blog (can you tell I need fillers?)…

What Your Fridge Says About You

You aren’t greedy, but you don’t really deprive yourself either. You strike a good balance with the stuff you buy.
You tend to be a fairly thrifty person. You splurge occasionally, but you’re mostly a saver.

You are a very adventurous person. You love to try new things, and you get bored very easily.

You try to be responsible, but you don’t always succeed. Your heart is in the right place though.

You are likely single – and a workaholic.
