Noooooooooooooooo!
This is what I said the minute I saw what happened at the Ferrari pit lane. My heart stopped for a second there I think, anyone who watches races like this knows that it is really exciting because a lot of things can happen. A few hours before the race started I was watching the sky, it was gloomy and it looked like it’s going to rain heavily. If you live here you know very well that the weather here is unpredictable, it could be sunny now and rain a few hours later. Luckily it didn’t rain and the race was on, we were excited (hubby and me) to see two red cars at the first two rows of the grid. Massa was first and my fave Kimi was third. Everything was going great for the Ferrari team (insert me cheering loudy in front of our TV, rofl) until Piquet had an accident and the safety car came out. When Massa went in to the pitt there was a system error and he was given the green light which meant he was good to go, but the pitt crew weren’t done yet so when he left with the fuel hose still attached to his car (which dragged the fuel guy and made him fall to the ground). It took a good few minutes before the Ferrari guys could catch up to him and take it out. Of course Kimi suffered too because he went to the pit shortly after Massa. Massa was given a drive through penalty and he had a punctured tire after that. Kimi went off into the wall at Turn 1. In other words no points from Ferrari. It’s so sad because they were doing so great. Now Ferrari is one point behind Mclaren-Mercedes for the contructor’s title and Massa is seven points behind Hamilton. There’s three more races to go this season, I hope they could still clinch the constructor’s title. There’s still a few more races to look forward to. It could have been great to have a Ferrari podium finish for the first race here but oh well better luck next time.
