All About The Memories

Tuesday. Iyah and I went to the mall. Just the two of us, without a stroller. I was surprised it was a good experience. I thought after lunch we’ll be heading home for sure but no, I was able to shop for some cute tops and get her slippers to wear around the house.

The rest of our weekdays were pretty much the same, a trip to the grocery and a little bit of rain.

Coffee filled weekend.

Saturday we went to Sony Centre to buy me a brand spankin’ new lens (ROFL). It is a mall we don’t frequent anymore but that’s the nearest place to get the lens. When we got there they told us that they don’t have the lens in stock (we were told that it is selling well). Good thing we asked them to call other outlets and they did, they asked someone from another branch to bring the lens there so we had to wait for a couple of hours. Rather than going back there again we decided to wait for the lens, so we had about two hours to kill and it was spent window shopping. When our feet got tired we stopped by McCafe for coffee (and snacks for the little girl too).

After that we went back to Sony and the lens was there (will blog more about this in a separate post), we got it and left. We went to another mall though where we got new sofa covers, hubby’s guitar case from Yamaha, Ali Edwards’ new book for me and Auntie Anne’s to take home. It was a good day.

So I went to one my my favorite online shopping stores and this was at the store front. It reminds me of Christmas. We’re now almost halfway through September and after my little girl’s birthday I will be preparing for Christmas shopping once again. I wonder what to give my sister this year. I suppose I could get her one of those talking watches she mentioned to me the other day. I better start browsing for ideas online and jot down possible gift ideas. It’s never too early to plan and budget Christmas shopping spending, I could start saving up for big ticket items too.

My husband bought himself a new xbox 360 streering wheel a few weeks ago. He loves his computer games alright. As much as I love the guy I hate seeing this thing in my living room. Why can’t he have toys that are relatively small, something that is not annoying to look at like this huge thing that is now gathering dust in my living room. I think from the time he got it he’s only used it three times because now he’s into RCs, I will post about this other toy next time but I will tell you it annoys me as much as this steering wheel does…maybe more.

So my Kristine Camera/Diaper Bag arrived at our doorstep more than a week ago and I’ve already used it twice. I love my flaps, it’s so pretty! The shoulder pad I ordered wasn’t mailed with the bag but it will be mailed tomorrow along with my new camera strap. I love this bag because it holds all of Iyah’s thing and my dslr as well. I must say that if you’re used to the cushion of a normal camera bag this bag needs some getting used too. It doesn’t have much cushion because it is designed to be a shootsac so it is body hugging when you wear it and not boxy like a normal camera bag. But as I’ve said it holds all my essentials when we go out so I’m happy. I just have to be more cautious not to drop the bag. Anyway at home I keep the camera crumpler. Oh and there’s a new Joey Bag too, its smaller but still as pretty and I think I like it.

We had a great week here. We had the usual weekdays where it’s just me and the little girl for the most part of the day while hubby and my sister goes to work. I did some shopping for Iyah’s birthday gifts as seen here and here. A few hightlights of our weekend…

Yay it’s Friday once again. Hubby came home early from work too

We don’t have anything special planned this weekend. I’m just hoping for a relaxing one. I hope we’ll got a good weather though so I could take pictures outside. This new dslr camera makes me want to take more pictures to make purchasing it worth the price. Practice makes better pictures so that’s what I’ll do. No I don’t have Nikon D90 but I’m very have with my camera. It is so much better than a point and shoot and more, I’ve been putting off buying one for years because I kept saying the pictures will be just that pictures but now that I have a dslr I can clearly see the difference. Now we’re looking into buying lenses, right now I only have the kit lens that came with the camera which is a 18-70mm F3.5-5.6 and it’s doing a great job but I want to be able to take macro shots too. I can’t wait to go lens shopping.

We had a bit of a hiccup yesteday, I’m so glad it is all fixed now. I do not want this to happen again (keeping my fingers crossed), it is no fun. Anyway my husband came home quite late from work last night. I wasn’t upset or anything it’s just that I waited for him so we could have dinner together and I was hoping to have dinner on time. Anyway he came home with good news so I was happy again (lol). I went to bed a little past ten last night, my head was aching so it was definitely time to take my eyes off the computer and let him work on the problem I was having for almost the entire day. And voila he did his magic (or work witht he tech guy at the support department) and all is fixed. I thought he was looking for jobs in Philadelphia when I saw my browser, but he was only reading the paper. Anyway I’m going back to bed now because it’s way to early for me to be on the computer.

How yummy is that? Last Sunday we were suppose to go to Sentosa but it rained heavily that the plan didn’t push through. Anyway late in the afternoon it stopped raining to we went out but only to go to the mall to shop for a few things then have dinner at Pepper Lunch. I love eating there, the food is great and not so expensive too. The little girl was behaved from the time we left the house until after dinner, she sat on her stroller on the way to the mall and then on the high chair at dinner. We had to let her use the Ipod but still she was great. We went shopping afterwards, just some essentials for me and then we bought a box of mooncake. I find it a bit expensive $32 for four pieces but I guess the ingredients they used makes it expensive. We went home at almost 9:30pm. It was a nice evening.
