And I…

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

finished Twilight, twice. Okay so I barely had five hours of sleep because I couldn’t put down the book but I was glad and I wanted more. I didn’t think about mass tabs or the other things I needed to do on a Monday because it was a public holiday, perfect timing eh? I was kicking myself for not buying all four books last Saturday. I asked my husband to go and buy the other two books this afternoon, but Eclipse was out of stock (again kicking myself). I know I will finish New Moon tomorrow if I start reading, now I have Breaking Dawn here but now Eclipse…sigh. There’s hope though he was told that Eclipse will be available tomorrow. I will call the bookstore to check and Iyah and I will make the trip to the mall then. My husband asked if it can wait until Saturday, I told him flatly, No. Yup another new obsession for me. It’s not good since i have a lot of things on my to do list that needs to be done. It is nice though to be away from the computer for the most part of yesterday and today. I loved reading before I got into scrapbooking, it’s nice to revisit an old hobby. It’s nice to curl in bed with a good book, it is even nicer when the character is incredibly handsome.

I Gave In

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I tried to hold this off for the longest time. I finally broke down and bought these…

I can’t wait to sit down and read it. I read a LOT of raves about these series and it’s been a while since I actually read a book. I love reading since I was in 3st grade, I started with Nancy Drew The Secret of the Old Clock which was given to me by my Dad. I credit him for developing my love for reading. I remembered it was an old book, small and hardbound and I loved reading it that I read it several times. I’ve lost that book long ago but that’s how it all started, I was a library kid since then (lol). I was even given a ribbon in 4th grade that has something to do about reading or being in the library often (I can’t remember really but I was sick that day so I didn’t received the ribbon personally), in other words for I think it was for being such a geeky bookworm…hehehe.
Okay rambling again, going back to my latest books…yeah I only bought two yesterday. Hubby asked why not buy the whole series (ahhh it is great having a husband who just buys whatever you want…lol) since it was in the book shelf as well. I told him I’ll buy the rest when I finished the first two and I also saw that there’s a 20% off sale for Breaking Dawn at the bookstore near our place so I’ll get that from there. Oh I also got two “I was bitten by Breaking Dawn” badges for purchasing two books. At first I thought these were magnets but no it’s a pin. I’ll take pictures later.

Weekly Round Up #17

Posted by iamjacq under Weekly Roundup

This week was a tiring but super fun week for us. Why? My little princess turned TWO!

Monday & Tuesday – Iyah and I went to the mall for some errands and last minute shopping. I was also finishing up a project and a kit due by the end of the week.

Wednesday – We went to the grocery to buy everything we need for the little celebration we’ll have for the birthday girl at home.

Thursday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our princess! We had to go to ICA that day for a very important appointment that couldn’t be rescheduled so our day started really early. We were done before lunch time though so it was great. We had lunch at Cafe Cartel before we head home. We had time to nap and the birthydal girl was well rested. I cooked spaghetti and we ordered pizza and chicken. The cupcakes I ordered arrived a bit late but it was worth the wait.

Shopping for me

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I’ve been doing a lot of shopping for the little girl in the past weeks since it’s her birthday month but I figured it’s time for mommy to shop for herself a little bit. I’ve been eyeing on some nice earrings in my favorite online stores lately and the three above are some of my favorites. I haven’t decided how many I’ll buy yet and there’s so many choices so I’m taking my time. I’ve also started by Christmas shopping list and hopefully I’ll start crossing off names on my list soon. I know our younger sibling wants one of those unlocked cell phones since she’s ready to trade in her N70. As for the rest of the people on my shopping list, I still have to figure out what to get them.

I need space

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

Hard disk space that is. I have about 100gb free space left from my EHD now and with my scrapbooking stash and all the designing I do I know it’s not going to last me long. I need more memory because I can’t make myself delete my unused kits eventhough I know I’m not going to use them again. Good thing my husband is into computers so he quickly got me a new 320gb EHD when I told him about my dilemna. I plan to burn my layouts and quickpage albums in dvds so I could delete them to free up for space.

Glam it up

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

We’re all set for the little girl’s birthday tomorrow. My sister even got me a couple fashion jewelry sets just in case I’d like to accessorize. She’s more into accessories though, having a daughter who thinks it is fun to pull your necklace and earrings made me stick to a watch. I’ve been browsing online for jewelries since Christmas is just a few months away. I came across Holsted Jewelers yesterday and like what I saw. The company was established in 1971 and since then have been providing exclusively designed jewelry, gifts and accessories to millions of satisfied customers. I don’t think I can afford it but it’s nice to look at beautifully designed jewelries.

Weekly Roundup #16

Posted by iamjacq under Weekly Roundup

October 7

The little girl and I went to the mall. We got a notice that there will be some power interruption in the afternoon so I opted for us to go somewhere instead of staying at home with no a/c in the afternoon.

October 11

The three of us went to the mall to shop for the little girl’s birthday. It was a great family day and we were out for the most part of the day. We went to Vivo City and had lunch at Superdog, hubby was in the mood for some good ‘ol fashion hotdog so it was the best option. After lunch we went to shop. I went to several boutiques first, trying to find something I like. The first agenda was to find jeans and sneakers for the little girl. I already have a custom made tee for her so we need something to match that. Luckily there’s a wing at Vivo City for baby/toddlers so I had choices. I ended up getting a super cute pair of jeans from Pumpkin Patch and I was very happy with it. Next was the sneakers, I had several options for this too.

And we went to several stores as well. Hubby wanted to get her the pink sneakers we saw at Converse but I told him he should look around first. It was a good decision because when we went to Addidas I found the perfect sneakers for the little girl. Can this be more girly? It is really pretty and it’s pink of course. The little girl didn’t mind trying on different sizes, I guess she knew it was for her to she happily obliged as the sales person put on the sneakers in her little feet. Oh and we almost bought a small football too, the little girl wouldn’t let go of it and was kicking it all over the place…luckily when she saw the paper bag with her new sneakers in it she took it from me and we left the store.

All the shopping made us a bit tired so we went to Starbucks for coffee. The branch on the first floor was full, full of people who were done with their coffee but using the place to talk and use the internet (it bothered me because other customers like us don’t have a place to sit). Anyway we went to the other branch on the second floor and we found ourselves some seats. I ordered us grande Mocha and Chocolate frap and Bannarama muffins. The little girl always call the whipped cream “ice cream” and would ask us for a taste. I just gave her the muffin and she was all happy. She was well behaved and she sat on her chair the whole time. That was so nice for me, having coffee with the husband and the little girl contented with her snacks.

After our short break we went back shopping again. This time we went to Toys R’ Us and get some party stuff for the little girl’s real party. I wasn’t expecting to find a whole section for hallowwen costumes, we don’t celebrate halloween here so it was a surprise. There were lot os teenagers messing around and wearing the hats and wigs to take pictures, it was a little annoying and it made me feel so old that I don’t find that funny anymore (lol). I ended up getting a cheap costume for the little girl, there wasn’t much choices for her size though.

More shopping followed but this time for hubby and me. I got him a new pair of sneakers and a shirt while I got several tops for myself. Esprit and Converse were our stores of choice. I didn’t find anything I like at Gap, even at the kids section which is surprising. I always get something from the kids section but this time I got nothing. Probably because I was going to order more dresses for her online next week. Anyway after all the shopping it was time for dinner so we had dinner at Subway. We got our sandwiches and Iyah had rice and chicken (I got from the nearby foodcourt). She got a cookie afterwards though. She won’t stop saying “cookie” so I gave her a piece and she kept asking for more. This is her face after eating a cookie.

So that was our week. I really hope I could do this weekly, I’m kicking myself for nothing getting three weeks worth of post. I have things I wanted to post before I forget about it.

Aggie Wants to Know!

From Aggie:

Anyway, for this week, I want to SEE you. Post your most recent pictures. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t look great. I want to see more than what is a normal avatar. Take note that it needs to be RECENT. Can you believe I can use an avatar dated 2 years ago? Time for things to change :)

Secondly, I want to KNOW you. Just YOU. Sans kids, the husband, just YOU. I have a lot of ME tags in my blog – you can use that. What do I want to read: You – Now. It can be as simple as “I love Coke.” or as complex as “I am the crossroads of my life.”

Truth be told I almost didn’t want to post this entry. I didn’t want to post a latest picture of me (this was taken last Friday by the way). Well since I was chatting with Aggie yesterday (and she told me to just post my entry) here am I.

So about me…

If you will ask me about the best years of my life, my college years would make the top three. I met some of my greatest friends in college. We had lots of fun memories and we also shared the got through the bad ones. We loved watching movies every Friday and going to bars as well. We can stay out until 4am and still make the 9:00am class. We partied a lot, spent a lot of time at each other’s houses ordering pizza and playing Mario Kart and Dance Revo ( wasn’t very good at them). We would go swimming in Laguna and we even went hiking once.

I married the guy I met nine years ago. He wasn’t my first but I’m glad that I’ll be spending forever with him. I dated a lot back then. I had a lot of suitors but I had three serious relationships in my dating years. All of them were older than me. I always thought that guys my age were too immature and full of themselves to commit to a relationship. It didn’t stop me from dating them though (lol). I always knew I will marry at a young age. I just never saw myself in my thirties and still enjoying being single. What I didn’t know back then is that I will choose to be a stay at home mom over having a career. I thought I would be a corporate slave but giving up my job to take care of my daughter is the best decision I’ve ever made.

I was never close to my parents (my siblings weren’t either). It’s not because we don’t like each other or anything like that, it’s just that we’re not close to them. Let’s just say that I never shared any of my secrets (crushes, likes, etc) to my mom as a kid and a teenager. This is why I want to do things differently with my own kids. I want to have a relationship with my children, I want them to trust me with their secrets, I want them to come to me when they need help. I know it won’t be easy, heck come teenage years I know we’ll encounter difficulties but I want them to know me and me to know them. I want and I will be involved in my children’s lives.

My oldest friend is Adel. We were classmates in second grade and we’ve been friends since then. We know each other very well. She was my maid of honor.

I’m 26, I’m a wife, a mom, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a scrapbooker and I have faith. I am happy because I have the love of the most important people in my life. I’m blessed and I’m grateful for the life I have.

Couch Potato

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

I was suppose to work on two projects that are due this week yesterday. What I did instead was watch season five of One Tree Hill. It is easy for me to get sidetracked when I watch the shows I like and when I have an entire season sitting there in our showcenter calling for me, I give in. I also won’t stop at just one or two episodes, I watch and watch and watch some more until I finish the entire season. It is not good that it’s the latest season of my other favorite shows as well. I must admit there were certain episodes that made me think of spray booth and I don’t even know why.Ugh, more TV time and computer time for me, less computer time means I get less work done and that’s not good.

Orchid

Posted by iamjacq under My blurbs

We went to the Botanical Gardens yesterday and I took this photo of one of the orchids at the National Orchid Garden. Hubby and I took a lot of photos actually but I haven’t uploaded everything yet. I just grabbed this one quickly so I could include it in this post. Yes we’re practicing the different settings of the camera, hubby more than me of course. Each of us took turns watching the little girl who loved running around the grounds of the garden. She just loved having a huge open space to play around. It makes me wonder if a magnetic bracelet would interest her so she could stay still long enough for us to have a decent photo.
