Happy Birthday Mommy! Iyah has been greeting me almost everyday for this month. She would even drag her toybox in front of me and say, “look, look…presents” with a smile on her face. Oh I just love this little girl to bits, she makes me so proud to be her mommy
Today is the day though, I’m a year older. We’re off to celebrate later, I wonder where hubby will take us. It would be just a simple dinner but I’m looking forward to it.
I love shopping online, it is easy and there’s hundreds upon hundreds of stores to choose from. I buy all sorts of things online from baby clothes and shoes for my little girl, to purses, magazines, books and clothes for me. I’m careful when making my purchases online though, I hope I won’t ever need identity theft protection. I’ve heard of stories of people racking up thousands on credit card bills because someone else used their account, this situation is quite scary as it is I dare not imagine anything worst. Thank goodness for paypal I don’t have to enter personal information when I shop and to my husband for making sure that our computer is protected.
I must admit, I think netbooks are cool. We have one (the cheaper version not a Sony) and our little girl has taken over it. She watches her Mickey and Friends videos there and she knows how to turn it on and where to look for the cable when the battery dies. Amazing how much little kids pick up just by observing us adults. Since it’s pretty small we take it with us when we go out (most of the time anyway) and with Wi-fi in most restaurants my husband can surf the net while we dine.
We went to HDB hub today for our first appointment. We got there on time (9:00am) and we were met by our agent and the owners of the flat we are buying. Everything went smoothly (although there were lots of documents to sign) and we were done after two hours. We got what we were hoping to get and then some. The turnover was suppose to be on the second week of May but it was moved to an earlier date….so we’re moving to our flat by the end of next month! We’re thrilled of course but that leaves us about six weeks to shop for furnitures and appliances. Great news the day before my birthday 
My parents and youngest sister are coming to visit in May. My mom already made flight reservations but it’s up to my dad to decide on the date. I’m not sure if she will get their tickets from a travel agency like Machu Picchu travel or somewhere else since they will be staying with us and not at a hotel. I think they would be staying here for about two weeks. I am making plans and thinking of ways to keep them entertained while they are here.
We’ve been window shopping almost every weekend. Yes only window shopping at the moment because we have to take measurements of the flat first before we can actually purchase any furniture like one of those nice tv stands I saw at a furniture store in Beach road last week. It’s still fun though, looking at different shops, seeing different designs of sofas, beds and dining tables. I’ve been buying a local home and decor magazines since January and there’s a couple of stores featured on the magazines that I want to check out. Some of them are not on the usual places we go to though so it can be quiet a hassle to go there. Anyway we still have time to do more window shopping
Last night I went to my Pap Smear appointment. I haven’t been to my OB GYN’s office since Iyah was one month old (bad I know), it’s fun to see Iyah’s photo on the wall among the other babies that my OB delivered. She was so cute in the picture While I was at the clinic Iyah and her daddy stayed at the library, she always enjoy being there so I knew she wouldn’t look for me. There were two other patients before me so I had to wait a little bit. My OB said I’m very fertile (hehehe), the lining on my uterus is good and my ovaries are fine too. I dread going to my OB because of the tests but it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be, just a teeny bit uncomfortable. Good thing she’s really nice and has gentle hands. The results will be mailed to me next week, hopefully the test result would be normal.
So I turn __ next week. Wow did March just flew by? I felt like I haven’t done anything productive this month. OH well it’s my birthday month anyway so maybe I have the right to be lazy (lol). I’m not expecting any diamond rings from my dear husband because next week we have some payments to settle for the flat. Anyway having our own home is more exciting. the prospect of decorating and furniture shoping makes me giddy. We’ll still celebrate a little though, I’m not too happy I’m __ already but hey I can’t refuse a slice of cake.
We had a nice weekend. Saturday it rained heavily for about 2 hours, I thought we weren’t gonna be able to go out but then it stopped so we went to Suntect City as planned. I wanted to go to the SG Flyer because I was craving for Popeye’s Chicken (lol) and their cheesecake bites (really yummy) so we went there too. Iyah enjoy running around only to stop when she saw there will ants crawling on the path she we were taking. She got really scared and clawed her arms on her daddy’s back and wouldn’t go down. It was so funny, last time she was afraid of fallen leaves and now teeny tiny ants. Oh not only ants, if she sees any insect that is either flying or crawling she’ll run on the opposite direction. I’m sure she’ll get over this fear soon
I was browsing for some nice lighting online when I stumbled upon this photo. I think it’s really nice and simple. We don’t have a big house so I don’t want to clutter the space with too much decorations. The vases looks great here, not too much and I like the that it’s just black and white in colors. The artwork on the wall is nice too, I think I want to do something like this on the entryway of our humble abode. I’m blogging this so I won’t forget about this photo. I’m so excited with the prospect of decorating our own house.
