My cousin is going to love the present she will be getting from us for Christmas. She’s a nurse so I thought I should give her something she could use at work, it was a little hard to find hello kitty scrubs but after searching on ebay I got one at a discounted price and it arrived yesterday. I know she’s going to love it, Hello Kitty is her favorite character and the scrubs turned out to be so cute. Now that’s one person off my Christmas list, I have more shopping to do.
My youngest daughter’s birthday is a few months away and I’m already browsing online for ideas on what to do for her party. It will be a small party but I want it to be special and fun for our guests. I’m thinking it would be fun to have karaoke machines for kids, they would have a blast singing their favorite tunes and jumping up and down. I’m not sure how much my little girl will enjoy her birthday since she’ll only be two years old then but hopefully she’ll be happy with her birthday cake and presents.
Hubby went to the USS Midway Museum this past weekend and he enjoyed seeing all the exhibits. There were 60 exhibits and 25 restored air crafts at the museum and he took a lot of photos. It’s good that he went because he loves air crafts and I don’t think it would be something the girls and I would appreciate this kind of museum as much as he did. I’m still the one doing all the planning for him so I’m browsing online for other fun places he could check out during the weekend.
My daughter will be graduating from preschool in a few months and she’s been busy with rehearsals at school and it looks like she’s having a great time. I’ve watched one rehearsal so far and though the kids have a long way to go in terms of knowing all the steps I think the music they are using for the graduation concert is really nice. I knoe it’s way different from listening at ableton suite at Musicians friend party, it’s more kids friendly songs and I can see the kids respond well to it. I know a group of students from a different centre will be performing a musical number using xylophones, tambourines and violins. I’m looking forward to see this graduation concert up on the big stage.
I am excited to find out that we will have another family adventure outside the country in a couple of months. Two countries in one year, how fun! Of course I won’t have to worry about accommodation such as rentals in fayetteville nc because my husband’s company will be providing that for us. My husband will be at their company headquarters for training on weekdays but we have weekends to go sightseeing with him and then the weekdays will be fun excursions for us girls. I’m already checking out kid friendly places and various other tourist attractions so I’ll be prepared for when it’s time to fly off. This will be a great ending to our year.
When my dad was here my eldest daughter loved spending time with him, it was really nice to see the two of them get to know each other and have lots of fun. He taught her all sorts of tricks and they did many projects together. They made paper airplanes (lots of them) and enjoyed making it fly across the room for afterwards. He even thought of showing her how he was dyeing leather back home but we didn’t have the materials needed. He helped her with her homework and then taught her math as well, my daughter loved spending time with her grandpa and was really sad when we took him to the airport a few days ago. We’re so glad there’s skype so at least we can see and talk to him still.
I am thinking of getting something special for my dear husband this Christmas, I know it’s only August but a special gift like a tag heuer carrera requires a lot of saving up on my part so it’s better to start early. Speaking of early I’m going to do the rest of my Christmas shopping ahead of time this year, I don’t want to get caught in the mad rush of people scrambling to buy gifts for their loved ones and godchildren. I can’t do that when I have a very active toddler who doesn’t like to sit on her stroller long enough to run some errands.
We went to the newest tourist attraction in town today and we had a great time. The gardens are definitely something to see, very well made and being air-conditioned it is a welcome change in this humid climate. Next time though I would go there with a full stomach as getting something to eat there is a little pricey.
A friend of mine started volunteering for a local nursing home in her town and she was asking for donations so they could provide better care for their residents. It is a government funded home so they need all the help they can get. I know there are great buys on knee walkers and wheelchairs available in the market today but they have limited funds and most of the people who help run the place are actually volunteers. I try to do what I can to help, I may not give much but I know a little goes a long way if more people reach out and help those in need. I hope she gets the money they need soon. I would love for the elderly to have more comfort in their day to day lives.
My dad is coming over to visit us next month and my daughter is very excited to see her grandpa. I wanted to give him something to remind him of his vacation here and I want something nice like a masonic ring if I can find one that is affordable. He has traveled all over the world so there isn’t really much I can think of we could give him. Of course anything handmade from the kids will be greatly appreciated and loved so I might frame a few of my daughter’s artwork too. We’re just all excited and happy to spend time with him, we can’t wait for next month.
