I was browsing sites and reading blogs this morning when I came across an article about irvingia gabonensis and then spent the next ten minutes finding more about it. Apparently this is a new weight loss ingredient and it helps to lower cholesterol and blood glucose levels as well. Now I’m not going to try any weight loss product anytime soon but I’m desperate I do want to lose weight. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using products to help one shed those excess pounds but I’m a little scared to do it myself.
Oh that’s new
I need my sleep
I’m having a hard time sleeping these past few days, I find myself still tossing and turning while hubby and the little girl are sleeping soundly beside me. At this rate I might need the best sleeping pills just so I can get my snooze so I can make it through the next day without yawning so much. I will be busy doing a lot of things for our upcoming trip and I don’t need to be longing for a nap during the day. In a few days we will be going back home and there’s suitcases to be packed and things to be bought, maybe all the things I have to do is keeping me wide awake in the middle of the night.
Excited!
I’m very excited because we’ll be going back home for vacation in a few days time! It’s been a while since we last went home and even though it will only be for eleven days we will try to enjoy it and make the most out of it. It will be nice to see family and friends again, we will also be celebrating my dad’s 50th birthday which would be fun. I’m looking forward to meeting my online friends and do some shopping with them as well. Iyah is excited about riding an airplane and we’ve been telling her about all the relatives she’ll get to meet aside from our immediate family. I better start packing this weekend so I won’t forget anything….
Darby’s in the House!
Post from guest writer Cassandra Waters.
Writing and talking about our pets are two of the most fun things we enjoy about them. In fact, using Satellite Star Internet wit hour new satellite internet Californiaconnection is how I found my latest addition to the family. I could not find the type of cat I wanted locally, so I turned to the Internet for my search. The search took me many miles away from home but was a success. My little rescue, Darby, arrived two days later.
A new kitten deserves new toys and a bed all of his own which meant a little Internet shopping was in order. Shopping online is so easy and a lot of fun. Having things delivered to my own front door is the best part. I ordered a 7-foot cat condo, and it was certainly nice to not have to figure out how to get it home.
When it came time to have my little pal neutered, I again turned to the internet for information. The decision to not have him de-clawed at the same time as the neuter was based on all the valuable information I was able to read online. He’s been a good boy, and the claws remain hidden.
I use his picture on my website, and I’ve been thinking maybe he needs his own blog. With such a rough start in life, he definitely has a story to tell.
When we go…
I try to plan ahead whenever we go on vacation,a family getaway is something that requires a bit of planning to make sure our time is well spent and everyone will have a great time. I try to search online for various restaurants and places of interest that is family friendly and hope that there won’t be any travel emergency during our trip. This works well for us since I try to include everyone’s wants and needs when we travel, a family vacation is not something we do very often (although I sure hope we do) so I want to make the most out of it.
Parts

It’s great that my husband is really handy when it comes to assembling shelves and fixing electrical stuff around the house. We got a new bookcase for our bedroom last week and added a couple of door and a couple of drawers for our expedit shelf unit. The photo above are the drawers and door parts he assembled himself. It’s all fixed in no time and now it’s in the dining area. Our little home is coming along nicely thanks to my handy hubby
Trying to Feel Safe in My Own Home
Post written by mommy blogger Amanda Silvey
I am a twenty nine year old single mother. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to make sure that myself and my son stay safe, living in the middle of this busy city. Sometimes I didn’t feel safe enough with just all of the windows and doors locked when I was going to bed at night. After deciding that it was definitely worth the investment, I had some alarm products installed in my home. I also have all my neighbor’s phone numbers and they have mine, in case an emergency were to happen. I have timers on my living room lights so that it looks like I’m home, even when I’m not. My porch light is also censored. Even doing small things, like getting a deadbolt on my back door, have given me piece of mind. I keep my screen door outside locked all the time, no matter what time of day it is. You can never be too safe, especially when your child is involved. I haven’t gotten a dog yet, but I have a feeling that the older my son gets, the more he is going to want one. That’s ok though, because that’s just one more “alarm system” to add to the list!
Oh how nice….
I was reading the latest issue of my favorite home decorating magazine yesterday and I can help but admire the outdoor furniture they featured on this issue. Granted we have no need for any of those furnitures it was still nice to see the latest trend when it comes to outdoor furnitures. Sometimes I wish we have a backyard or maybe a nice little nook with lots of greenery where I can relax with a good book and a cup of coffee in the morning. But then I don’t know anything about gardening so it would probably not work for me. Still a girl can dream from time to time….
Father’s Day 2010
So last Sunday (June 20, 2010) was Father’s day, we celebrated on Saturday though because we had a christening party to attend that Sunday. It was a nice family day for us which took us to three different parts of SG. Well we were really going to IFC to see if there is a decent bookcase there than the one we want from Ikea. I decided that we should stop by North Point mall first before heading to Yew Tee so we had lunch at Swensens.

Here’s the daddy trying to decide what to order for himself…
After lunch we headed to Yew Tee, I didn’t want to stroll around North Point as I find Yishun to be very crowded. As expected we found a bookcase at a reasonable price from the same store we bought all our furnitures a year ago. We didn’t get anything else which was good for our pockets, just paid for the bookcase did a little window shopping then we headed to Jurong Point.
We had hubby’s Father’s Day dinner at Kuishin-bo, a japanese eat all you can buffet. Hubby dined there before with his colleagues but it was mine and Iyah’s first time. We love japanese food…all the sushi and sashmini I can eat? I’m in heaven. They didn’t disappoint, We had plates after plates of sushi, sashimi, takoyaki, teppanyaki and hubby even had crab claws which he said was also delicious. Oh and the little girl had lots of miso soup and tofu for herself. Their dessert spread was also abundant, the little girl and me were quite happy with that.

It was really a great Father’s day dinner, I was smiling the whole time because there was really a lot of food choices and we let the restaurant with full and very satisfied tummies. I already told the hubby that we will definitely go back there (like next month hehehe).
Where is it?!
I just hate when I’m looking for something and I’ve turned the house upside down and still no sign of the missing objects. I’m now thinking if it would help if I have radar detectors to find the set of house keys I’ve been looking for, where is it?! where is it?! I need to find the keys so I have them read when we go for our vacation back home in a few weeks. I last saw the set of keys in a small pouch a while back and now the keys nor the pouch is nowhere to be found. My husband is getting a bit antsy and has been bugging me to find it since last week. I hope this weekend I’ll have luck in finding them.
